History
The African Caribbean Association is a campus community that was founded by several friends of different nationalities who were inspired to rejuvenate an organization for the enhancement and unification of African and Caribbean students at Old Dominion University. In the Spring of 2001, ACA was officially recognized as a university organization.
Since then, the African Caribbean Association at Old Dominion University has progressed significantly through the recruitment of new members from Africa, the Caribbeans and the United States.
In addition to discussions, social events, and soccer games, ACA has participated in a wide variety of campus activities such as Community Care Day, homecoming parade, Helping Haiti Drive, and Paper to Pearls for the women in Uganda.
The African Caribbean Association remains committed to securing the interest of African and Caribbean students; strives to promote an awareness of African and Caribbean cultures, and continues to foster unity among all students at Old Dominion University.
