Becoming a member of the greek community is a huge step in your collegiate
career. But if you ask any of our sisters, being an AXiD has changed our lives
in a way that we never thought possible. |
Sisterhood
This is the most important aspect to Alpha Xi Delta. Sisterhood is what keeps us
together, and there is nothing that could ever replace the companionship we feel
with our sisters. |
Academics
Academics are very important to Alpha Xi Delta. Our open motto is "the pen is
mightier than the sword," exempliflying our strive to become more educated.
For the second semester in a row, Alpha Xi Delta's have held an average GPA
above that of the all Greek average, all Greek Female average, AND all ODU
Female average. The GPA requirement to be initiated into Alpha Xi Delta is a 2.5
which is higher than most sororities which only require a 2.3 |
Leadership
Being a member of a group like this offers a great chance to show your leadership
potential. There are many positions of leadership within the chapter. Not only our
executive board, but also other committee positions. This is a great way to become
comfortable in planning events, working with other organizations, and organizing
your peers. Also, leadership opportunities, such as this, look great on job applications. |
Community Service
This is another aspect of our sorority that is very important to us. Our philanthropy
is Choose Children and we do various events throughout the community that focus
on helping children in need. We volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, CHKD,
FOR Kids, and many others. Becoming a member of Alpha Xi Delta is a great way
to get involved in these organizations and help change a child's life forever. |
