PRESIDENT

Senior, Class of 2010

nluux001@ odu.edu

Nam Luu was born in Northern Virginia and was raised there by several different members of his family. This type of upbringing instilled him with many Asian values and traditions. As the first born Vietnamese-American in his family, he is often looked upon to set the example for the younger family members and helps bridge the cultural gap for the older ones.

The term Asian-American did not mean much to him until he met his friend and mentor Janille De Guzman at Old Dominion University. She encouraged him to join APASU which started his journey to learn more about the APA community.

Nam wants to use APASU as a vessel to break stereotypes, raise awareness and unify ODU's campus community. He hopes to teach his members how to be professional, help them grow as individuals and assist them in finding their passions in life.

Besides being involved with APASU, Nam is the Vice President of the Information Systems and Project Management Professionals. He is also a member of the Business Honors Student Society and Monarch Maniacs. With his degree in IT and minor in International Business, he plans to get in to IT Project Management and dreams of one day becoming a CIO or CEO.
