The ODU Propeller Club is a student run organization that promotes the study of maritime related business and academic disciplines at the school's Maritime Institute. Old Dominion University is one of only two schools in the United States to offer a degree in Maritime and Supply Chain Management, and one of only three schools to offer a Maritime, Ports, and Logistics Management MBA.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the ODU Propeller Club students by providing monetary support for maritime related study abroad programs. This summer, ODU students will embark on a two-week tour of European ports. These students will be bring the knowledge they gain in Europe back to benefit business in Hampton Roads.
Former club president Alfred Hull stated at the tournaments inception that, "this golf tournament will be an event where the maritime students can network with the established professionals of the maritime community. These are talented, hard-working students that will be future assets to the Hampton Roads maritime community."
The current club president Towns Agnew is committed to that tradition, "the ODU Propeller Club is committed to adding value to the Hampton Roads community. Our students that study abroad are able to bring maritime best practices vetted on the international stage back to Hampton Roads."
Space is limited but still available for golfer registration, and is available on a first come, first served basis.
