Boys and Girls Club

SWE organized special activities at the Boys and Girls Club for the Norfolk Girl Scout Council. A Girl Scout troop has recently been established at the Boys and Girls Club in Norfolk. They had a sleepover for the Daisies, Brownies, and juniors. This event was to excite the girls about the many opportunities there are in engineering. The girls had 40 minutes to come up with the tallest tower using very little money out of marshmallows and spaghetti noodles in which the tower must hold a book without falling. From the activity, the girls learned how to use simple engineering principles we as engineers use everyday which are design, problem solve, creativity, and teamwork.
